"Okay, sounds like a plan." He reaches into the folds of his cloak and brings out Cornelius, setting him down on the bed. "If my little Cornelius starts trying to get out of here, it means I need help. If he runs around in circles, it means I've deserted and so should you... and take him with you."

On his way out, he blows a kiss to Illiam, "Thanks for the encouragement."

Stepping out, he will look around for any guards or large, official looking structures where there might be guards, such as gated entrances through protective walls.

He nods in agreement to Illiam'iira's suggestion that it be mentioned that the drow are Eilistraean. "Drow are generally looked upon with disdain on the surface. Our underdark kin are pretty brutal guests when they visit the surface usually."

He waits on the eventual conversation and explanations they'll need to give. But this is a place of knowledge and understanding. He knows they're not going to be killed on sight.

As Thaddeus steps out, the first thing he probably notices is the air. Being from Sigil, means he always had to deal with a low flow of oxygen from the portal gates of the Elemental Plane of Air constantly blowing air within. That makes the air always thin. Not here. It's natural, it's always flowing, and there is a sense of one taking a deep breath fully and breathing in something that wasn't thin or filled with smog.

He also notices, as he continues this feeling of air really entering into his lugs, several eyes on him as he steps out of the boarding house when nobody was in there before and several guards are hurriedly heading his way. It may logically have to do with the fact with you breaching the first layer of security...

Encountering the full oxygen fresh air, Thad stands tall and takes a deep breathe... then doubles over into a coughing fit. "Oh yeah! Been a while since I've had that good stuff." Holding one hand up towards the guard to ask for a moment, he braces the other on his knee while taking shallower and shallower breathes until the coughing tapers off.

Standing back up, hands up and away from his body with his palms facing out to show he's not hostile, he addresses the armed and armored men who've rushed to him, "Good mornin'..." He looks up to the sky for a moment to try and see if it is actually morning here as well. "I don't mean to alarm you. I am a scholarly planeswalker who has come to your fine city to exchange knowledge with your venerable greybeards."

Having composed himself, Thaddeus addresses the guards and mages who have gathered around him, "What a courtly welcome this fine burg offers. My colleagues and I have traveled far to beseech of you an exchange of knowledge. What we seek has naught to do you with your citadel, but is merely contained within its vast collections. For our part, we offer rare and exotic knowledge as well as access to the author of said research."

After pausing a moment to let the offer sink in, he continues, "Now, such... unique information comes from an equally unique source. While my appearance may bring about some doubt as to my benevolence, the author and my other colleagues may invoke hysterics in some. The author is of the Illithid race, or mind flayer as some would call them. The other two are Drow, though they are Eilistraean.

We all agreed to announces ourselves as best we could so as not to cause alarm amongst your citizenry."

"Yes the Mind Flayer is very much of the scholarly nature. In fact, they would like to develop a relationship with you good people for continued cooperation and future visits.

As for what an Eilistraean is, they are followers of the goddess Eilistraee. She is generally considered a force for good and hope. Any preconceptions you may have about Drow nature likely do not apply to these two. Although, if you are unawares of Eilistraee, perhaps they have some lore to offer you as well."

"I suppose...though I'm sure there are others inside the keep who know of her. We don't make it a habit to ask a Drow about their goddesses when they come to the surface and kill and capture our people. It's hard to change that notion if you've never experienced it. Whatever, bring them out we'll let Ulraunt decide what to do with you. Go grab your Underdarkian crew and get out here."

The guards ease up a little, although they do not still drop their guard. Two, in fact, go with you inside of the building to keep a eye on you.
