Patience was not Thad's strongest virtue. But who could blame him when he invested so heavily in his many other virtues. When he was assigned to conduct a sensory ritual, he knew he would need someone to keep him company. Experiences were always better when shared anyway.

Checking with Annali to make sure he had her blessing for visitors, Thad reaches out to some of his recent acquaintances to see who wants to visit the lauded Sense Escalation Tanks.

Cyprian had been curious about the Sensates, so he'd already planned on visiting today. Then when Thaddeus told him about the job he was doing Cyprian volunteered to assist. It's a no-brainer after all, learn something new and get paid for it. But the idea that almost a year could be experienced in the span of mere hours? Please... this was something he had to experience to believe.

"So... what do we do? Will we be able to talk to one-another?"

Honestly he had a million questions but those were fair to start with.

[Thaddeus]

Thad eagerly greets his friend, "Welcome! Welcome! Well yes, we'll be able to talk. I'll guide our meditation in the tank. It's a bit different from the recorders you've maybe tried? The tanks focus more on pure sensation. We filter out most of what's been recorded, all the extra stimuli, and bare down on one single sensation. It is because of this intense focus without any interference that it'll feel like no time at all is passing. It's quite euphoric."

[Cyprian Kircheis]

He raises an eyebrow, "That's... huh." He looks at the tanks and back at Thad. "So no memories just... sensation? So just pure euphoria, or... ecstasy?"

[Thaddeus]

"For me, 'tis all euphoric. In the society we don't seek out solely what most would consider pleasurable. There's value in all experiences.

That being said, I'm not going to thrust a week of razor vine cuts or void nausea upon you..." he cocks an eyebrow, "unless you request that sort of thing. But I want you to enjoy yourself your first time here. If there's anything you desire, we'll probably have it covered."

Thaddeus takes a seat among some plush pillows nearby. "Before we begin, let's take a moment to clear our minds, remove the distractions, and open ourselves to what the tanks have to offer."

[Cyprian Kircheis]

"Who knows? Pain mixes well with pleasure at times." He'll join Thaddeus on the pillows. "I'm... not sure what I'm supposed to do here?"

Some would say Cyprian's mind is always clear. Those people are likely Gizby or Jhaamdath (Flession), and they're being hurtful. The truth however, is that most of the time his mind is flooded with music. And it's only when he's asleep that the music is silenced.

[Thaddeus]

Smirking at the mischievous man, "It's okay, I had some troubles focusing when I first used the tanks. For me, it helped to focus on one thing until everything else fades away. Once we get there, there's no stopping what's to come."

Shifting to the side, Thad unslings his viol and begins playing a light melody while whispering, "Listen to the music, let it flow through you."

Soon, the melody becomes a chord repeated, "Let it wash it all away."

And then a solitary note and nothing more.

He thinks on the one thing. The note, the note becomes a chord, the chord a passage, until his brain is flooded with viols and lutes. A rapturous explosion of sound. It shifts, it becomes harmony. The harmony becomes a familiar jaunt. A song about desire, about love, about ecstasy. It builds into a crescendo as his heartbeat becomes the drums. Why he could almost sing... but he won't out of respect.

Instead he sways a little as he listens.

[Thaddeus]

Though Cyprian tried to look as though he was preparing, Thad could see that his mind continued to stray.

This one was on him. He should've known better than to entice the man with his musical talents. There was no way the notes of his viol would not bring inspiration to Cyprian.

Leaning forward, he whispers, "Perhaps we should proceed to the tank."

[Cyprian Kircheis]

"Do lets!" He jumps up. "I'm positively giddy to try these out!" There is a child like glee in his gait. "So how do they work?"
