When enough people tell you to help at the soup kitchen you take the hint... though Illiam also just wants to. Tonight she'll introduce herself, see if perhaps there's any work that needs doing, check the lay of the land. Something to keep the body & mind occupied and, if she's lucky, feed the spirit. Hopefully she won't be a burden. That's the biggest worry.

...don't think too much about it, Illiam. As they trudge through the Slags looking for the Pantry Illi pulls out the ribbon she keeps in her pocket, reading its embroidered drow script over again; the voice in her head as she does so is her grandmother's. That's who first told her of the great balancing act. There's a small smile before she stuffs the satin ribbon back into her pocket.

"You see the warehouse yet?" Illi pipes up to Quev. He gets to be the lookout because he's taller. (That is not actually the case but it's fun bullying him about it... well... bully might be too strong a word.)

"We're looking for a place called Allesha's Pantry." Illiam'iira stands on her tippy-toes and cranes her neck, trying to see if there are any signs in a language she understands with the name.

Stupid Quev getting the growth spurt and not her.

Quev will pick her up and put her on his shoulders. Give her that height she wants so much.

There's a little surprised gasp before she falls into a fit of delighted giggles. Illiam settles on Quev's shoulder. He knows her too damn well. The light of her joy brightens the area for a good few seconds as she playfully kicks her feet in the air; gotta get the happies out before getting back to business!

"Ooookay... I think I see it... over there! Onward, noble steed!" And Illi points the way!

"Cry harder!" She answers with a bonk to the top of his helmet. Hard enough for a thunk, not hard enough to hurt. He's one of her best friends after all. "Okay, I'm getting down now." With that she slides down to land with a soft plop on her feet.

...Illi takes a moment to give Quev a silent side-hug. (Just long enough for emphasis.) Then she opens the door and peeks inside.

Inside is a quiet scene for the most part as most of the dinner rush has already ended as a bald woman begins to clean up around the mess while the others around her begin to gather the dishes.

"Oh, looks like we got a couple of stragglers. Got any leftovers, then? That one in the armor looks as if he can really eat a couple of plates. The one next to her could stand some herself." She says with a smile.
