She had no inclination to refuse the offered hand, nor was she off-put by the name. Names following the rule of three were somewhat common in the Cage, and many folk picked colorful ones, or ironic ones, or those with some less than obvious meaning. Hells, Sings knew a thing or three about such things of course, given the name she'd chosen for herself.

Maybe it was the handshake, or more likely the words that followed, but she started paying attention a bit more now. A sense coming over her. The sense... that this woman might be a bit barmy. Or that maybe she wasn't and this was actually something worth paying attention to. Which was also the case with the barmy ones as you never knew when they'd decide to stick something in between your ribs.

"Okay...well..." She paused again. "Okay...look...it's just easier....okay. Just trust me for a moment." She sighs deeply and firmly grasps your hand she just shook as she begins to chant some words, divine energy swirling around both you and her.

"Wait what are you--"

In that briefest of moments, Sings-With-Purpose might've wondered about a lot of things. Like whether to have tea or coffee for lunch. When it was going to rain again. Whether she would ever figure out what to do with the Carbuncle, or for that matter, whether she was ever going to give it a proper name or not. What she really should've been concerned with was why she didn't know how to counterspell magic as it was being cast at her. She could certainly attempt to *dispel* magic once it had been cast, but by then the damage had often already been done and in any case th--

The spell completed its course as divine magic enveloped thru your body. She smiled and gave a sigh of relief as she let go of you.

"Thank Apollo I caught that."

"W-what?" Sings with purpose stepped back, not quite grasping what just happened. She was still in one piece so clearly she hadn't come under attack. Unless it was the kind of attack that didn't come with immediate dismemberment involved. But she still feeled as if her mind was intact, nor was there anything else wonky going on as far as she could tell.

"What'd you just d--"

And *that's* when she started to feel like maybe something was wrong after all. A most unpleasant sensation making its from somewhere deep inside her all the way up her esophagus or whatever it was called, until out plopped an egg from her mouth, vomited right down onto the pavement.

"HURK uuugh!"

"Oh, so that's what it was." She picks up the egg and stares at it before crushing it in her hand and wiping the goop and the vomit to the side. "Ew. Must have been around with those wandering Slaadi that I've been hearing about. Have to be careful with those things, otherwise you'd be a...I think the green one? Maybe white. I can't remember, really; I get them all confused sometimes. But hey, happy I came across you when I did. I've always had a knack on sensing when people are sick with things. Hence, Sign-of-Malady."

The cleric smiles at you does not seem to fade, especially after how she manhandled you to cast her spell. After all, the end results were favorable.

She stared at the egg in confusion and revulsion for a moment, eyes going wide as the realization hits.

"Ah hells, yeah... must've been that trip to Limbo the other day. A bunch of 'em clawed me real good. Didn't realize it'd leave me with an egg inside."

Sings chuckled a little awkwardly at that before moving along and distracting herself from the thought of having been who knows how many or few hours away from turning into one of those beasts or however it worked.

"Thanks, real life lesson there I suppose. Really should know better about learning them on my own, being with the godsmen and all, but thanks, you're a life saver."

At that point the Aasimar looked at the woman again, a bit more closely than before. She had the strangest feeling like she knew this woman somehow, but it was hard to put her finger on why exactly, especially given Sings wasn't necessarily as sharp about some things as she liked to think she was.

"Honest... how can I repay your kindness?"

There's a real sense of disappoint coming from your magical aardvark seeing the egg being crushed.

"Oh...uh..." She shrugs. "A drink, I guess? I don't normally leave Mt. Celestia, so Sigil's relatively new for me. Having someone who's from here giving me some survival tips would be great, actually. Otherwise I may get...jinked." She nods firmly, acting like she used the right word.

She scritched the carbuncle behind its ears with a bit of pity upon sensing the disappointment; though frankly it'd probably not be very hygienic to have it eat something she vomited up.

As Sign-of-Malady spoke, she gave the woman an impressed sounding whistle. "Blimey, mount Celestia you say. Can't say I've ever made it there. Haven't had cause to really. Been over to Arborea though. Figure it's a bit more rough and tumble than Celestia if the chant's to be taken true. Bit more my pace, that. But sure, I can find us a decent enough tavern for a drink around here. The Cage has more than plenty of taverns and the like. Not all of 'em a good fit for a first timer from the celestial planes, though."

She would chuckle in a friendly manner and start leading her toward the nearest tavern she knew of that'd have both decent quality drinks and wasn't liable to throw a brawl or drunk pit fiend their way.

"Jink, by the by," she started explaining as they walked, "is currency. Coin, yeah? Might be you meant nicked or peeled, depending on whether you're worried about getting attacked or conned. Latter's more common I'd reckon, but the former ain't uncommon neither. S'pecially if you're going 'round the Hive much. This area here... well, Clerk's ward ain't bad I suppose. Grew up here myself, though I've been sticking more to the Lower and Market wards these past number of years."

She nods and makes a mental note about the terms. "Yeah, I was told to avoid the Hive like the plague before I came here." She said. "My mother was from the Clerk Wards as well, so I figured that it was a good enough to place to enter in from, as to avoid that Hive and Lower Ward. Have to say, it's not bad. Not as nice as home, but it's hard to beat a celestial mountain in terms of beauty and sights."

Clerk's Ward had a few taverns, though not as many as the Lower Ward. All that meant was quality over quantity, as they were mostly well maintained and cleaned on the regular, as they had to cater to a different sort of clientele: government workers.
