[Ikkit the Bastard]

Ikkit lowered his bow, headed over, and hunkered down next to the body.

"Poor bastard. Murdered in the Hive, mutilated an' gift-wrapped by a complete arsehole, an' stashed by the Ditch."

Fekt croaked again.

Ikkit picked up the note, but didn't read it yet.

"Reckon the Hooded Perv has some fine words about how I can have the real body now he's done cuttin' it. He ain't too original. Not reading I need t'do right this moment."

The goblin spat.

"'Course, the Perv's better at puppet shows than intimidation. Well. Hate the Hardheads though I do, reckon we'd better turn this one in, see about gettin' him to the Mortuary after they've stomped around tryin' t'act like they know what t'do."

[Illiam'iira]

"..." Illi listens, her brow furrowing. Ikkit knows something about this. And, this is something bigger than it looks. She knows there's been investigations.

"I'll call them in. It might be a bit, so I'll stay here with you, uhm, and wait."

Guess she'll be up a little longer than she expected.

Illiam'iira pulls her brooch from out of her shirt, and, kissing it, whispers something in drow before Sending a message to investigator Amelie Crane.

Found a body at the Ditch. Jaw removed. I don't know what happened but I know you can find out. Meet us here?

Receiving the message from Illiam’iira’s sending spell, Amelie would respond.
In her mind, Illi receives a groggy message of an obviously formerly-sleeping Amelie.
“Let me get dressed. I will meet you there. Make sure you are safe.”

"My cousin Amelie. She's an investigator, she's already been investigating a --" Illi tenses. "Shit! This has gotta be the same person. Two dead bodies with their jaws removed is... way too coincidental. Unless. Uh. Does that happen often in Sigil?"

"Nope. But the Perv sure talked like this was a thing he Believed in. Be funny if he didn't live where murder intersected with being an absolute idiot."

Ikkit spat to the side meditatively.

"I figured those three berks who were there the night before when this poor sod got put in the Dead-Book woulda talked this up."

"...what, uh, what exactly happened, Ikkit? Do you know who killed this guy?" Illi breathes in deep. Shit. "I -- I know all this is stupid but -- I believe in my cousin. And what she can't do, I'm willing to do. If this is someone who needs getting taken down, I'm in. I just -- I really would like to know what's going on, because I'm getting, a little worried, something very serious is happening in this city, and I'm getting a little scared that maybe -- it's not getting taken care of... like... have these last few days been normal? The slaadi, the Kadyx deaths, the chaos-men, this?" She gestures at the dead body. "Is this Sigil's normal and I'm being crazy or is all of this -- weird? Because I'm a little worried maybe I'm not crazy? I don't know..."

He chuckled.

"Reckon I'll tell the whole tale when your cousin gets here. But while it ain't normal, it ain't the weirdest I've seen the Cage. You'd be right that it's not getting 'taken care of,' 'coz, well... it ain't the weirdest I've seen the Cage."

He chuckled at the repetition.

"Mm. Fair enough. Just... ugh, Ikkit, this is the third dead body I've seen -- no. It's the second dead body I've seen today, because I didn't see the body Quev ate..." Illi facepalms. "Sorry I'm bein' so cranky."

He shrugged.

"Don't bother me none, Illiam'iira. Nothin' wrong with admitting it bothers you. 'Leastways you're honest 'bout it, 'steada tryin' t'act like it's nothin'."
