[Feature]

After quite some time at the Madhouse proper, Feature and some other of the madders went outside for some...

Feature looks up.

Thick, silvery fog it is. They were kinda hoping for sun... but they had learned long ago that hoping didn't lead to much - although some Signers had tried to convince them otherwise a few years back!

As in the day before, a heated discussion left the madhouse along with the group of madders. Today, it went exactly on what the nature of chaos was. Specifically - did chaos always produce things that looked like chaos? Or could chaos produce something that looked exactly like order?

Feature's experience just this morning with the weird lady proved a very good empirical evidence, in this case - she seemed incredibly orderly, and that in the madhouse seemed to be something completely chaotic!

'But if the background is chaotic and something orderly comes in, it would always seem chaotic against that background, then!', someone said.

Feature click-clicked and whirred for a long time after that remark. They did have a point. Could the girl have been a Guvner, then? But... why would a guvner do something like that?

They thought about an argument based on permanence of behaviour, but it seemed way too profound, complicated and... ultimately meaningful.

When the whirring stopped, they laughed hard. "You know what, you're right, Billy-nilly! But ultimately... why would that even matter or prove to begin with? To make it a point of being orderly or to make it a point of being against the background might look the same and yet not be the same - but most importantly, would both not be trying to make a point of making sense? And what's the big deal with making sense??"

The answer was met with a round of laughter of all those involved as they continued their walk around the neighbourhood.

[Makeshift]

A wrong turn, a corner predestined, happenstance, or just an audience in waiting. Whatever the reason, Feature and his entourage stumble across something hideous.

Just before they see it, a faint laugh can be heard. Cold and infinitely self-assured. Then they see it. Or him, more accurately.

An Orc, dressed in rags and carrying a lute from a strap stumbles down the streets. He's covered in gore and blood. He sees the madders and gives a halting smile.

"E-e-excuse me... I seem to have... Lost something..." He says before going quiet, his expression blanks and he turns around. The back of his head is gone, just a ragged window into his brain remains. His Grey matter is held within only by thin strands of something... Blue and red-ish. It looks like somebody has taken bites out of his brain.

He falls to his knees, and the stands break, spilling his brains all over the street. He falls facefirst into the cobblestones.

That laugh, again. Somebody's proud of the joke.

Illi -- who'd been passing by on her way to the soup kitchen -- stops dead in her tracks when she hears the man fall. She looks and wishes she hadn't.

Then the laughing. A little shiver runs up her spine. Where'd it come from? Not right now. A hand clamps over her mouth as she does her best not to hurl. Instead Illiam'iira finds herself running towards the carnage, not from it. Ooooooh by the Dark Maiden oh by the gods oh this is. Skin crawlingly awful.

An Orc loses his mind.

The reaction from that particular crowd is probably quite varied. One of them in particular, possibly the roundest character in the crowd, steps forward, chuckling slightly. If anything, they seemed to get the joke.

They do walk a few steps ahead, the single eye shoots a look down at the orc. "Um... sir? You seem a bit airheaded... are you still there?"

They look around then - it's not sure whether they really expect an answer or not. They then note the flashy, sparkly elf, visibly uncomfortable, and shoot a kind smile their way. "Oi, ms Elf, you don't seem too well! Can we help?"

"Uh," Illi's already kneeling down to check the man's pulse. "I think I'm doing, uh, better, than, this guy, thankyouforasking," And she gets back to the task at hand -- figuring out if this guy is DEAD dead. "Can you uhm, shit, they don't come here -- shit -- who are you supposed to call..?"

[Makeshift]

Illi breathes in. Okay. She pulls a large scarf out of her bag to cover the back of the dead man's head before looking up to the crowd. "Who takes the bodies to the ... Dustmen? Usually? Can someone go get them?"

[Feature]

Feature's arms wiggle a bit at the top. "Um. Sometimes we take them there, or to the alley, when the worst happens inside the Gatehouse. Here... they usually don't stay around that long?"

They laugh again. It does sound somewhat nervous this time.

"We guess we might try and take them somewhere, though. But we wonder... did they just lose it?"

Described horrible things happening more or less out of nowhere.

A look around. Did that really just come out of nowhere? Could they see or sense something? Had they ever seen something similar before?

If a check of some sort would help, please let us know! I'm always hoping for Investigation to make sense of stuff, but whatever makes sense... Or maybe there's just nothing we could find XD
