[D2 LM] A spot of home

Gabriel walked alongside Rufus among the Slags. His eyes glancing over the consequences of his Lord's war. It was an ugly thing in Avernus, but here, among civilians...it was somehow more visual. More permanent.

He let out a sigh, and he started walking around, looking for potential recruits. That is why they were here, after all. Find potential recruits. For whatever reasons.

[Flession]

This isn't the place to get the prime choice cuts for the devil army. That didn't, of course, mean they could not be made useful. After all, the first wave of any major assault needed those willing to protect those who could actually change the tide of the battle. The morning offered some slim pickings, but the main lot of them were already lining up for the soup kitchens for lunch, so recruitment would be difficult. That being said, a woman begins to approach you, bearing the mark of some faith. "Oh my, a noble paladin, how kind of you to come down here to save us poor Helmi--"

She paused and leaned in closer to see your holy symbol and sighed deeply, changing into a more demonic presence.



"Of course, first pious man I see down here in a month and it's a blasted follower of Asmodeus..." She groans and slumps down low.

Gabriel turned towards the demonic woman. An undercurrent of sheer hatred and desperate survival threatened to unleash from him...but he held it in check. A knight of the Red Death does not act upon mere emotions.

"Well, my lady." He was trying hard to keep his tone neutral as he spoke. "I may still be the follower of Lord Asmodeus, blasted as he may be," his mouth curved into a smile "but I am a pious man. It is a shame that no others have come recently here, but I am here now. How can I help?"

[Flession]

She moves in rather slow at first, her burnt wings on full display looking around at you, while her four tails swung very slowly. It was clear she was sizing you up as she slightly towered over your frame. "Well...I wouldn't mind a distraction while I'm on break...maybe you can take me somewhere and...spread the word of your lord; I'd like to see what he's selling."

"Break from what, exactly?" He entertained the thought of holding out his holy symbol at her and shouting BEGONE FOUL FIEND, but really, that would be dramatic and slightly hypocritical. "I can spread the word...but perhaps would you like a bite to eat while you listen to my monotonus yet beguiling pitch?"

[Flession]

She pouts for a moment at the rejection of the offer, but shrugs a little. "Well, I do like to eat human food. Don't really need to eat any more." She swayed a little and glanced him over. "You do look rather tasty, of course..." The demon paused and gave another sly smile, moving in close once more to your face before pulling back. "Don't worry, I don't eat mortals anymore, either."

With a small flash, she returned back to the innocent human form she once had as she approached you.



"Where to?"

"Hm, not sure. Let's walk for a while and see how it goes." He eyed her new form. "I'll take tasty as a compliment." He smiled wolfishly. "Any favorites from human food? How'd you end up here?" He indicated backwards towards the Slags.

[Flession]

"Not particularly. Hardly the Lady's Ward down here, really. Maybe a place I can find a better mark. Not for nothing, but I don't have all the proper confidence to do the usual thing with a follower of your lord, which is why I'm here. Easier to trick a Myhrissite or--ooh! A Ilmater follower. Now, when those priests break...mmm"

She smiles innocently in her human form. "What, we all have our fetishes."

"Well, I am undecided if I should be glad or offended." He smiled. "Something sweet perhaps?" He gesutered towards a nearby shop offering such delights. "If you're lucky, you might even meet someone who follows that fiery guy...Kossuth, yes, that's him. With the beard!"

The demon in human skin looked around the desolate wasteland of the slags for...any shop really.

"Think those have been cleared out centuries ago. Now, Kossuth followers are interesting. They're pretty hot-headed at times,..easy to get burned by them if you are not careful. "
