That morning, while accompanying Akh to the mortuary, Cyprian spied a flyer for arena fighters. He'd thought nothing of it at the time. But doubling back after lunch he took another look at it. "Well, well! That much for a one-on-one match?! I'm in!" He said with reckless abandon.

Heading over to the arena he found someone that looked like a custodian, or a ticket vender, and asked, "Where do I go to sign up for a fight?" The man threw his head back and laughed. "How dare you! In my plane I was known as the Grey Prince, do you want me to show you why?" That got a nasty look from one of the bouncers who directed him towards a door leading down into the pits.

"Finally," He said. "Experienced warriors will know my worth." And oh boy did they ever. The pit bosses laughed and tried to put him against some halfling. "How dare you! This is outrageous, I want to fight the-" Just as he was about to say Tiefling he saw the female Dragonborn. "-she'll do." He said with a mischievous grin.

His choice drew some rather questioning glances but the pit-bosses relented. "Your funeral." They said as they showed him were to wait.

And wait he did. Apparently the Dragonborn is a popular opponent.

Sticking out like a sore thumb among the small crowd waiting for their turn in the arena is a familiar face -- Illiam'iira waves at Cyprian with a big smile!

"Well!" He was completely and totally shocked. "This is both a surprise and the last place I expected to see you!" Cyprian joins her. "I know we tenuously agreed to meet up again in the near future. But I was rather hoping it would be for a meal, or even better a night cap! But blood sport?" He joked.

"I could use the money," She says sheepishly. "I'm not very good, but if I won, well, that'd be nice, wouldn't it?" Illi gives her best laugh. "You need money too, or just lookin' to have some fun?"

"I want money for sure. But I'm always looking for fun!" He grins but then pulls back on his enthusiasm some. "So while we've got a moment. I got the feeling you wanted to tell me something last night? In particular I really wanted to ask you about that transformation you did."

"Oh! Uhm." Illi squirms a little bit where she stands. "Well... I just wanted to ask you... are you okay?"

He blinks, "Ummm, in what way?"

"Uhm," Oh now she's practically vibrating with anxiety. "P-pardon me for, uh..." Illi meeps. "I don't really know how to explain it. But you seem... uhm... so... you wouldn't let me heal you. It made me worried. And the way you act... it... it feels a bit like you're holding people at arm's length. Or maybe the world. So it can't effect you. So it made me more worried. About, uh, if you're okay or not." Her cheeks flush as she suddenly finds the floor veeeery interesting. "Sorry."

A smile works its way across his face as he internally screams from the cuteness overload. "Hardly," he chuckles, "actually..." His face turns surprisingly serious. "... I, well." He doesn't really know how to say it. "I'm quite well. Capital in fact! Better than ever before. It's just..." My the floor is interesting isn't it! He scratches his head perplexed. "I'm sorry I've just been, not myself recently. Not that you could know what that means just..."

He felt a tinge of embarrassment. Normally he commanded words and they would fall in line. But here recently he's been struggling with them.

"The long and short of it is that I'm okay. Better than okay. So you needn't worry so much about me."

A wave of relief washes over her. Illiam'iira lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Thank goodness! Her pink eyes turn up to look at the man.

"It's alright, mister Cyprian. You don't have to explain any of it to me," She offers gently, "But it's good to know. Just -- in the future -- please let people take care of you, even if you feel you don't need it, or might not deserve it. Not all pain has to be endured alone." Illiam'iira gives him a soft smile as she reaches out to touch his arm. "I promise." There's so much warmth in her voice.

Her forehead bares a silvery crescent moon.
