[Illiam'iira]

"Oh, thank you again," Illi murmurs softly to Hush as he leads her to them. "I didn't want to miss this." Sweet dog. Good dog. She may have snuck Hush a treat on their way between here and the portal...

[Whisper]

Whisper's scent was easy for Hush to follow. In time, Illi would find Thaddeus and see the genasi once she was closser.

"You came." Whisper welcomed her. "I'm sorry we didn't wait longer. I found a promising trail."

[Illiam'iira]

The hound gets a little kiss on the nose and a whisper of thanks (and another piece of jerky) before she skips on over to join the two. "Ain't no problem, I know how it is. Any tracks?"

[Whisper]

"I found something. We were about to follow and find out what."

[Illiam'iira]

She nods; aww, she'd hoped there'd be pawprints! Illi peers past him to try and catch what Whisper has -- though she's no huntsman. "Alright. I'm ready then," And she hushes, moving to stand with Thaddeus, hugging her sword as she does.

[Flession]

The footprints you found are large creature, much akin to a wolf. However, as you glance over it further, you can see that it's a bit...more. There claw marks on their front and hind legs that stretch out a bit further than a regular bear would. It's not something you are familiar with, not a strange magical variation, such as a owlbear, but it's large nature, not to mention the small traces of blood dripping from where the legs remain would likely make any hunter curious.

Still, it's easy to find, easy to track, and assuming you wish to stealth it, almost beckons you to come find it.

[Whisper]

"The blood is fresh. We're close." Whisper pointed the tracks out to the others. "Move quietly, and stay in the shadows."

[Thaddeus]

Thaddeus felt himself getting caught up in the thrill of the hunt. This was very different from his usual, sentient prey. The thought of facing off against a ferocious beast with little on its mind other than survival was exhilarating. There would be no sweet talking his way out of things if it got too heated, no wily tricks to buy enough time to escape.

He had many questions for Whisper, but those would have to wait. The hunt was much too engaging to allow for distractions.

[Illiam'iira]

This place reminds her a lot of home. So much so Illiam'iira has no issue slipping in and out of the shadows around Whisper only to pop out when least expected. She watches him, watches Thaddeus, and looks -- and listens -- for their quarry. Perhaps a lone dire wolf? Hopefully so -- a pack could overwhelm them. Feels a little nostalgic. How long has it been since she joined a High Hunt?
