"Then perhaps I can begin." Something about the man's patronising unsettled Akh. Those considering themselves omniscient were usually just buffoons. "Who killed John, Rhaunades' apprentice? And who has the tome?"

"Really? That's the first question you ask?" He drinks his beverage while shaking his head. "The killing...well, I assumed it was obvious who did it. Tell me, who do you think did the killing? No point in seeing this game unfold if I just simply give you all the answers. I'll tell you if you're right, how about that." He nods his head. "The tome, however...is a mystery to me, left that way on purpose, of course. The game becomes much more enjoyable when you don't know every single move, does it not?"

"I promise you, I will take my time so that the slower of you may understand it." His eyes immediately go to Cyprian as he nods.

"Really? That's the first question you ask?" He drinks his beverage. "The killing...well, I assumed it was obvious who did it."

Cyprian clenched his teeth in a smile as his eyes narrowed. "Perfectly obvious indeed. As is your thinly veiled veneer. Perhaps you might prove that this isn't a waste of time. Though I suspect you're not even capable of that."

"This is part of the game, Cyprian, and I will not be taunted into changing the rules that have been set forth." He drinks more of his drink, looking at you directly. "I am a Argenach, after all, so things do not go into motion without my steady hand and guidance. Now, if you wish to understand what has happened, you may answer my questions. Or you may leave and maybe one day figure it all out on your own, but I highly doubt that about you."

"I follow a mental pathway of my own to figure things out. I won't presume it's anything like yours. My best guesstimation is that the killer was a Rilmani, but since their visage was obscured those present cannot verify if it were you or another of your kin." She looked at Fyne to check if the voice of Jemorille was familar to him. "My other belief is that the tome may have a will of their own."

[Flession]

"Oh, it would not be me. As I said, I am a Argenach. My role is to not assassinate you mortals, but to help guide you into ensuring the Balance is properly maintained, such as I am doing now. Now, a Cuprilach, if you are correct, which I am not saying you are, naturally, would be the one to do such a thing. Their role is to assassinate those who would disrupt the Balance."

His eye glances down at you, more curious about you than he was before. "Now, what made you conclude the possibility of the tome?"

"I had a glimpse into the apprentice's pre-death thoughts. He seemed to be losing a battle of will against using the tome, which would consitute a reason for the assassin of your kin to act. And there is the Rule of Three of course. The tome seems to have escaped destruction or neutralisation thrice already, so I am excluding coincidence. Would you share with us the knowledge where can such a Cuprilach be found for conversation? I don't think our goals here are far apart from what the Rilmani would want of the whole situation."

[Flession]

"I see..." A silvery nod of his head affirms what you've said. "Unfortunately, I am not social with any Cuprilach; Those inside Sigil are beyond the game being played and serve the balance. That being said..." He paused and thought for a long moment, looked at the both of you, and went back to his drinking.

"An assistance of your choising might be quite helpful. I think that getting ahold of the tome is quite important? Perhaps it seeks to enact the will of it creator, and that may be a singularly unbalancing being."

All this talk of apprentices and tomes was new to Thad. He sat and ate his ham and eggs while soaking in the new information.

Before Akh guided the conversation any particular way, he wanted Jemorille to finish his thought. He knew this sort, they liked to feel important, liked a berk to hang on their words. Easiest way to do it was play the role, make 'em feel special like they had the upper hand, and let 'em chirp, "That being said?... You know something, don't you? You sly old fox."
