[Whisper]

"I don't mind, really." he offered his hand. "Years of exploration and adventure sound very appealing. But, no one should do so alone."

[Mysti]

Mysti stared at Whisper intently for a moment as she sandwiched his hand between both of her own. "Precisely the problem I've always encountered. I've not had any long term companions -- the groups I've been involved with have always gone their own way once the goal was achieved. But i've putting money aside for a long time -- to cover basic traveling expenses -- for many a year -- so when I do decide to leave Most enemies are no longer a threat ..."

She dropped into a thoughful silence -- though when she did finally speak again, there was just a hint of her normal lilting purr coming back into her voice. Not that Whisper could have known what was 'normal' for her.

"I've attempted it myself a few times back on Midgard -- when Cyprian was off having affairs with Elysienne and Rowen in Barovia. I wasn't concerned overmuch with my safety -- but the lonliness, I must admit -- it got to me. Started messing with my head. I usually traveled by night -- which, for me -- was safer. But there were far less people about, and everyone is suspicious ..."

She cleared her throat. "Well, you know what I mean. I just felt ... disconnected from the world I was traveling through when .... I wanted to experience it, be a part of it. Being alone defeated the whole purpose."

Mysti then tilted her head slightly with a questioning expression. "Why ... are you interested?"

[Whisper]

"In getting to know you better, as we explore new worlds?" he grinned. "Yes. I think I am."

[Mysti]

Mysti could only blink a few times -- staring in open disbelief. When she had sat down to play a few hands of cards, this was not at all what she had been expecting. She had entertained a lot of fantasies in the past but they had always remained just that - fantasies. No one had ever been at all serious about any of it. Naturally, within the hour, everyone had gone on living their lives as if they had never spoken.

"Wait ... really? You're not just saying this to make conversation? Because if you're really serious then .... after making arrangements with the Harmonium, we could be on our way in a few days. Which isn't to say we have to leave then. Just saying that would be the time frame."

There was a short pause.

"Providing you're serious. I just ... never met anyone who was. So ...."

[Whisper]

"I don't have any specific responsibilities or duties." he explained. "Living in Sigil has certain advantages, as does being a part of the Free League. But, I'm not bound here. I can go as I wish, with whom I wish."

[Mysti]

Mysti nodded ever so slowly -- still wrestling with her disbelief that someone would even entertain the idea of doing this. She had to, in a way, absorb it.

"Yeah ... I'm the same way with the Harmonium since ... well I think I mentioned ... I'm not one of their standard Hardheads -- as we are so lovingly called. There are certain creature comforts in Sigil, to be certain, that will miss on occasion. But nothing says we have to leave forever. We can always come back when we wish to. In addition, no doubt we'll find other cities out there."

"Right ... well, like I said we don't have to leave immediately, but I don't have many people who will even care whether I leave or stay. Ergo ... nothing keeping me here. Or there. Or anywhere else."

Mysti then gives a somewhat forlorn sigh. "I wish I had a tressym though -- like Hush -- only a flying cat. I would love to have one but, hey, how did you and Hush end up together? Did he just sort of ... find you?"

[Whisper]

"Exactly." he nodded. "However I ended up in the forest, it was Hush who found me. He protected me and guided me to the elves, to safety. He's been doing that ever since."

[Mysti]

Mysti sat thoughfully for a minute or so.

"Have you ever wondered why? Not to cast any aspersions upon your character, mind you. He obviously found something within you that was worth saving -- worth guiding -- and perhaps even more telling -- worth his loyalty."

More thoughtful silence as she gently bit her lower lip.

"I would, were I you, find someone who could cast a spell which would allow you to speak directly to Hush -- as you've been speaking to me -- since I would be -- eternally curious. But also -- eternally grateful."

[Whisper]

"He saw me as a lost pup." he answered. "He sees me as kin. It was the first thing I asked him after learning that spell."

[Mysti]

Mysti raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Oh so you have talked him ... well, it would make sense that you would have since no doubt you've been together a long time. Still ... hey, how old are you, anyway? You don't have to tell me if care not to."

She rubbed her chin pensively, continuing to mull over the situation. "Still ... still ... he could have guided you to the elves and then disappeared. Mission accomplished. But he stayed. I don't know -- perhaps I'm reading more into it than what's really there. But I truly and most definitely like what it says about you."

She gave Whisper's hand a little squeeze before letting go. "In fact -- I like it a lot."

For the first time since sitting down, Mysti gave Whisper a sincerely warm smile. Not quirky or mischievous or ghostly -- but one in which she allowed genuine feeling to show forth.

"At any rate, I haven't even been able to keep a rat as a pet so ... I'm not entirely certain what that says about me." Mysti's quirkiness came back rather quickly. "Except I still don't have a tressym. Or a faerie dragon. Or even a raven -- though the cawing would get to me after awhile. Why do spellcasters and rangers and druids and those type get to have all of the fun with pets?"

She flashed Whisper an exaggerated pout.
