Fyne checks to make sure that the document he had stolen was actually turned in. He doesn't assume that the document the stranger was looking at was the one in question but he guesses it is. He takes a peak at what she's working on just to confirm it.

Fyne stands up and dusts himself off, before checking to make sure he didn't hurt Lirrax in the fall. "That was... these people suck," he says to his little pseudodragon. He looks around to find that the other person was gone and he wasn't catching them. He sighs and then starts walking. He may as well make sure the message was delivered even if he wasn't the one delivering it.
She slides the clipboard back to the desk attendant and in return is handed an envelope. The receptionist at the Harmonium HQ comments as she hands the envelope to Amelie
“Yes, everything here seems to be in order. This is the information we have, it came in just a bit ago via one of our informants. Said they were sent from the mortuary.”
The attendant gives a less-than-genuine quick smile to Amelie before shouting “next!”

Not to be dissuaded, Amelie finds a table with a degree of privacy and opens the package, checking over the missive within, as well as a strange object that was provided with it.

In the evening of initial day of the investigation, Amelie made her way to the Harmonium barracks to review some information about the case. After entering the district, she began to find her way towards the office that handled such investigations in order to requisition some of the appropriate materials.

[D1 EE] Message For You Sir!

[Continued from LA]

Fyne makes his way from the Hive to the Barracks. It's an unfortunately eventful trip with way too much going on. And apparently some cutter overheard his task and passed it on to a co-conspirator. As he crossed into the barracks district he was caught unawares, and tripped up by some cutter he didn't recognize. He couldn't make out who they were, but they plucked the missive from him and took off, shouting "Thanks for doing the hard part berk!"

He was so dumbfounded and speechless he didn't react. He just stared as someone else took his mission, his jink, and what respect he might have gotten while he was slackjawed in the middle of the street. "What?"
